KRISCON

Our framework KRISCON Scenario Planning
The Framework is built to support regional development bodies, municipalities, or companies in enhancing their renewables strategies and attracting or securing investments. Through a structured, location-based, data-driven process, we analyse your structural surroundings and match them against scenarios from successful cases before suggesting a tactical pathway towards your aspiration. The framework integrates data-scraping, empirical data scenarios with SWOT analysis, team exercises and more.
Get sustained success in your region by investing in the definition and risk assessment of your strategy

Below is a comprehensive breakdown of the 4 modules provided.
Module 1
The Problem
Initial Assessment and Problem Identification A3 SPS (Outside-In Analysis)
Step 1: X-ray the organisation: We conduct interviews with your management, Subject Matter Experts in the organisation and regional stakeholders such as citizens, surrounding businesses and more. This enables us to identify the data required to build the Strength and Weaknesses.

Step 2: X-ray the environment: We conduct a 360-degree situational analysis of your structural surroundings to pinpoint both the enablers and inhibitors affecting your strategic objectives, including:
-
Political: Government policies, regulations, and political stability affecting renewable energy initiatives.
-
Economic: Market trends, economic growth, and investment climates influencing energy projects.
-
Social: Community attitudes, demographic shifts, and societal values impacting energy adoption.
-
Technological: Advancements in renewable technologies and infrastructure development.
-
Environmental: Climate change considerations, sustainability goals, and ecological impacts.
-
Legal: Compliance requirements, industry standards, and legal frameworks governing energy projects.

Step 3: Creation of situational Strengths and Weaknesses map.
Module 2
The Analysis
External Analysis and Strategic Alignment (Inside-Out Analysis)
Step 1: Identification of relevant model scenarios. We source the case studies overseas or locally wherever data is available. By crossing variables against each other, typically four or more, we build a set of scenarios.

Step 2: With the defined scenarios in place, we conduct one or more workshops to asses which scenarios align best with your existing strategies and aspirations. With the scenarios shortlisted, we unpack Opportunities and Threats from the chosen model scenarios.

Step 3: Overlay Strengths and Weaknesses with Opportunities and Threats to inform SWOT. This phase analyzes how internal strengths and weaknesses align with external opportunities and threats from selected scenarios. By mapping these elements, we highlight areas where strengths can exploit opportunities or counteract threats and identify vulnerabilities where weaknesses could hinder progress. This thorough SWOT analysis sets a solid foundation for strategic decisions without moving into implementation.
Module 3
The Roadmap
The Strategy sprint (using Innovation Spring workshop format 5 days)
This roadmap phase uses an Innovation Sprint Workshop to translate insights from the SWOT analysis in Module 2 into strategies. The framework focuses on aligning goals, prototyping strategies, and gathering feedback to create an adaptable pathway.

Step 1: Goal Definition: The team sets a unified goal, drawing on the SWOT Analysis. This ensures alignment with both internal and external circumstances.

Step 2: Idea Generation: In this phase, structured brainstorming ensures that resilient and adaptable solutions are proposed. We use ideation methods like mind mapping, heatmaps and more.

Step 3: Strategy Prototyping and feedback: Prototypes of potential strategies are crafted, presented in plenum and gradually processed to ensure broad ownership. Each prototype undergoes scenario testing to confirm alignment with the SWOT findings. Stakeholder feedback refines the strategies, ensuring real-world applicability.

Step 4: Strategy Finalization and Continuous Improvement
The final strategy is refined based on feedback, aligning it with the SWOT analysis. A continuous improvement plan is established to adapt the strategy as conditions evolve.
Module 4
The Solution
The Implementation Triangle
This final phase centers on the effective execution of strategies.

Step 1: Strategic Governance Process - Where we want to go
To maintain both momentum and accountability, a strategic governance process is set up using Tier1 best practices. This governance process will ensure the strategy adapts to new internal and external conditions, evolving with market insights, operational feedback, and adjustments as necessary. The process allows for continous recalibration of efforts to stay aligned with the organization's long-term goals.

Step 2: Balanced Scorecard Development - How we measure progress
A balanced scorecard is created to measure and evaluate progress against strategic objectives. Each metric is connected to insights from the SWOT analysis. The scorecard provides a clear framework for monitoring how well each component of the strategy aligns with the intended outcomes.

Step 3: Strategic Projects Portfolio - What we do to get there
A portfolio framework for strategic projects to deliver towards the strategy. The project portfolio is actively managed, ensuring that resources are allocated in accordance with the strategic direction and the metrics refined in the balanced scorecard.
